Hey guys, i am new to the forum. It appears my truck has door jam switches, but i cant figure out, how to remove them, so I can get my dome light to turn off. I know the 95 and up rangers have a switch on the door latch, inside the door... but mine appears to have some type of switch in the door jam? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks!

If they're the old-style plunger type that simply ground the light, you just use a deep socket and unscrew it.

 

Hey buddy, thanks for your reply. I believe you are correct. They door appear to just thread into the door jam. Looks like they have a 3 pin connector.

 

Yes, they will pull out

New ones will look WAY too long, but they will fit, just close the door after installing and they will slide in to be the correct length

Also make sure your main light switch **** is not turned clockwise all the way, the dimmer, all the way turns on Dome light
