1994 Ranger XLT remote start questions

Hello everyone,

I am planning to get an all re-done 1994 Ford Ranger XLT. A friend rebuilt a lot of stuff on it, and now decided he is just going to go get a new one at the dealership. It has power windows and locks on it, but it will not come with a key fob.

Forgive me if this is stupid, but did they have a key fob from the factory? If not, can a Viper system be wired to the locks as well?

Basically what I want to do is get a Viper remote start system, and have it remote start, but also control the locking of the vehicle as well. Buying it for using around the house, dump runs, winter driving (4x4), and other stuff a home owner needs a truck for.

Thank you for the help ahead of time!

No remote fob from the factory.
I've seen alarms on these trucks, in fact, mine had one until i changed my dash over.
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to put one in, you would have to bypass the feature with the car being locked to start it, unless you lock it all the time. or find one without that feature.

I do plan to have it locked all the time.

Would you happen to know about getting an aftermarket key fob to work on locking and unlocking the doors? There are some out there that come with the option to get rid of your entire factory key fob so that you only need one. Here is a link to the one I would like to get;

Got this one for the girlfriends car and it works great.

I believe with the alarm installed, it will be wired where you would use the remote to unlock/lock the doors.

Ive installed 2 of these. I like them and they are super easy to wire in. Can do power locks and whatnot if you wanted
