1997 turn signals don't work but hazards do

I have a 1997 ranger and my turn signals stopped working on the outside and the inside. But my hazards still do work. it was blinking really fast and then just stopped. What would that be?

Turn signal and hazards use 2 different flashers, they are both under dash

I would check any trailer wiring you might have, connectors can get corroded.

Hmm. I'm more familiar with 4th and early 5th gen (03 and before) but it may be possible that your multifunction switch itself is bad, or going out.

Although it may seem obvious, I'd take a moment to check the bulbs. Also check any fuses you have.
Typically when it's flashing really quick that means you have a bulb out. However given the fact it's intermittent I doubt that's the issue. It may also be worth checking the sockets for said bulbs too.

Good luck on your hunt.
