2003 Ford Ranger, Blinkers wont work but hazards and everything else does

Hi, new to the site. I have a 2003 ford ranger with the manual trans. I noticed a while back that I was having problems with my turn signals working and then not working. Sometimes the only way i could get them to work is by holding the lever down, then sometimes the only way i could get them to work is by moving the column up and down. Now they dont work at all and i can't get them to work. Any ideas, I thought maybe it was a bad wire or something but if that was the case wouldn't the hazards not work seeing they are all on the same switch? Thanks for all the advice in advance.

Thanks

Sounds to me more like a multifunction switch is bad. You could try to replace the flasher relay under the dash. but more than likely is its the stalk.

I have the same problem and it has been driving me crazy. What is the stalk? And how hard is it to replace?

The Multifunction switch can be replaced in like 10 minutes. and you can find oodles of them at the junkyard. also try the flasher relay first. its under the dash by the steering column. stock I think they are blue.

I wouldn't get a used one. They all have that shorting issue that affects the wipers and blinkers after like 50k. New aftermarket are $40 from Rockauto, new from the dealer is like $60.

I'd give you Tascas price but I can't find the part lol

I checked in my truck and all are working fine.
