2001 Ranger Radio not working

I have a 2001 ranger xlt 4x4 3.0 had it for about 2 months the radio does not work wont turn on nothing checked all the fuses and a mechanic did as well tried replacing the radio it still dont work the only thing that works on the radio is the green backlighting at night. I want to try to figure it out before I take it to someone if anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it!

When you 'checked' the fuses, did you just check them for continuity or did you also check there is 12 volts present at them?

Welcome to the forum

Are these both Ford factory radios?

Wiring diagram here: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...dio_Wiring.pdf

ignore fuse 28 it just MUTES radio when starting engine, NEVER use this wire when installing a 3rd party radio
Fuses 20 and 29 are to power the radio

Use a Volt meter and test if 29 has 12volts all the time
And that 20 has 12volts with key on

If either doesn't then you are getting closer to solving the problem

If you want to pull the radio out again, you can start there with Volt Meter
Need 12volts AND a good ground, Radio has 3 ground wires, all 3 need to be good or no radio

And where did the 2nd Radio come from?
Ford radios do break, ALL radio do, and are often sold as "working", or who would buy them, if YOU didn't see/hear it working then consider it broken until it works, lol

What are the odds of getting two broken Radios, just slightly less than buying the winning lottery ticket, do the math
