2011 Ranger Vent FAN Oddly Stopped - Fuse??
Hello Everyone,
My 2011 4 Cyl Ranger has been a great truck - NO QUESTION to it. This said, I have a problem I need help with.
About 5 days ago the vent fan just stopped working. When the left dial was turned, nothing happened. Then oddly,
two days later it suddenly turned on perfectly and worked for two days. NOW, it is dead.
The AC still engages, and there was NO NOISE OR SIGNS OF THE BLOWER MOTOR going bad that I could
detect. It worked perfectly, and then it simply seems to have stopped on a dime. Functions on right dial still
work but the fan will not engage via the left dial.
Might it be a fuse? If not, what should my next steps be? I am hoping I can access whatever is needed without
having to rip out the dash.
All help is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum
See if Fan works at HIGH, lower speeds run thru a separate wire, if HIGH works but not lower speeds then the Resistor Block needs to be replaced, not an uncommon problem
In the Engine fuse box..........check fuse #13, 30 amp, and there is also a Blower Motor Relay in the same fuse box
Test fuse with OHM meter or replace it, "looks OK" is NOT a test
Put your finger on the top of this relay
Have someone inside cab turn fan to HIGH and Vent to DEFROST
THEN Turn key on
You should feel the relay "click", if you do then relay is OK
Turn key OFF and relay should "click" again
Repeat as you see fit to make sure relay is getting the signal from the cab selector
If you don't know where Blower relay is in the box then go here and download 2011 Owners manual: https://www.ranger-forums.com/genera...1-models-3747/
It will have a Map of both fuse boxes, engine and cab
