4.0 sohc dimensions
Don't see anything listed as far as dimensions for that engine, may have to hit a wrecking yard with tape measure in hand
And that would be better in any case since you could get overall dimensions, vs just long block dimensions

The funny thing is i just messured the engine today. It's 20 1/2 inches wide and the length is 23 (firewafi to radiator ) so basically simular to the 351 windsor

Yes, outside of the length it should be similar to an OHV small block V8, a little wider than the 302 but about the same as the 351, because of the OHCs
BUT............the small block V8s are 90deg so exhaust manifolds become an issue in the Ranger frame
