Help! my door dinger wont stop dinging!

Icon9 Help! my door dinger wont stop dinging!

no matter what i do its like my truck has a mind of its own it only shuts off when it wants to. and im afraid its going to run my battery dead! does anyone have any suggestion to what i could do?

well, shutting the door is a big first step ...


What year and body are we talking about here -- not too uncommon for the sensor in the passenger door being an issue for the past 10+ years or so... Many of thosse have wires cut, or a little lubrication applied ...

Spray the latch mechanism inside the door with PB Blaster or WD 40. Open and shut the door a few times and if needed , spray it again.
The door switch for the dome light and dinger is mounted on the latch and gets dirty.

Disconnect the Negative cord to the battery for 5 minutes. Then connect it back, this will reset all the sensors.
