91 XLT 3.0 idles okay. dies with acceleration
Hello all! I'm new!
My girlfriend has a 91 ranger and I am the designated mechanic. I'm at a loss and need some help.
It was driving fine, one day it started studdering and I popped the hood and found a vacuum line had cracked half in two. I plugged the whole and eventually replaced the line.
Since then, it has not driven right. It wants to die under acceleration. I took it to a shop and they didn't know what to do and gave it back.
I did a vacuum test. Came back with a 14" of vacuum and that isn't good from what I can tell. When I ran the codes (EEC-IV/OBD-1) I got a 60 - meaning a problem with the 6the cylinder. I pulled the plug and cleaned it and all of the connections. Ran the codes again and it didn't pop back up.
I also got a 54 - " intake air change temperature sensor circuit open; vane air flow sensor out of range"
And a 66 - "tot sensor signal input below self test minimum or vane air flow circuit below minimum"
I thought about a new MAF sensor but not sure it would fix the issue.
Air filter is clean. Fuel filter is pretty new.
Any advice will save my life!
THANKS!
