adding cruise control, clock spring question
My 97 4.0 OHV never came with cruise but has all the wiring in place. Ive ordered a used steering wheel with cruise buttons and 4.0 ohv servo with cable off an Exploder. My question: is there chance that my Ranger has the clockspring that has the connection for cruise buttons already? From what ive seen online, 95 to 97 clocksprings all have the cruise connection.
Just want to be prepared ahead of time before I start working on this. Thanks!

Yes, if the other wiring is there then clockspring will have the 2 extra wires, light blue/black and dark green/orange
The buttons can get quite brittle and break, so check them carefully when you get the used steering wheel, they are not too expensive for a new set
There is an AIRBAG so be sure to disconnect battery and WAIT 15min before removing steering wheel, it CAN kill you

Yes, that looks correct, should be 5 pin connector
If steering wheel has "SRS" on it then there is an airbag inside it, 1995 and up Rangers had them, 1998 and up have passenger side airbag as well
It punches you in the face, IF you wake up it will be in the hospital..............IF you wake up
