Bad PCM

My fuel pump wasn't turning on so after going through every check point i could think of i pulled the PCM. I've attached a pic of the PCM, it is clearly burnt on the inside.
My question is: what causes a PCM to do this? Is it in the wiring? A bad relay somewhere? Also, which numbers should i match up when looking a replacement at the local junk yard? ThanksBad PCM-bad-pcm.jpg

Usually moisture gets inside the case or connector and causes a short.

Look at the diagram here: ford eec iv
Test the connector for the described voltages or grounds to see if there are any problems
