Blower issues
Blower issues
So...just when it got cold, my blower motor in my 2008 Ranger stopped working. I replaced the fan and resistor, and it was working fine. During the repair, there was corrosion on the connector to the resistor and wouldn't connect well...but good enough I felt, as a new connector would need soldering.
The air stopped working again, a few weeks later, and now, I have cut the old one off, and soldered a new one on. I'm decent with electronics, so soldering wasn't difficult. After connecting everything, I still had no fan, and I'm kind of at a loss of what I have to do now to fix it.
Any ideas?

Well I connected a power source right to the fan itself, to the connector that comes off the fan. This bypasses everything in the vehicle, fuses included.
Blower motors in Fords are GROUND controlled
There is a blower motor fuse and blower motor relay in engine fuse box in a 2008
These supply 12volts directly to the blower motor when relay is on, the yellow/green wire
The ground for the blower motor comes from the Resistor block, purple/orange wire
In high the the resistor block is by passed
med high
med low
These speeds including High come from a Cab ground on the speed switch
Low is a ground on the resistor block, so in engine bay
There is no OFF on speed switch, OFF is when you turn Vent control to OFF, that turns off the Blower Relay so no 12v
