Ranger starting issue

Hi,
Asking for a friend.
He has a Ford Ranger diesel year 2008 &!is located in UK

He can turn ignition on so he sees all the lights on dash & watches immobiliser light come on & then off.
He then turns the key & the vehicle starts.
Sometimes when he turns the key nothing at all.
He can do this sometime 3,4, 5 times & then it starts.
Sometimes it only happing 2 times.

But when this happens there is nothing at all.
When it does start it starts & runs like it’s supposed to.

Just wondering if this is a common issue with these or maybe advise where to go from here

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum

We are in North America and could never get the PJ/PK Rangers here, ours were smaller trucks and no Diesels, 1983 thru 2011

Try Australian Ranger forums, there are a few, they got the PJ/PK Rangers there and forums are in English

PJ/PK Rangers were sold world-wide EXCEPT in US and Canada

Sounds like loose or dirty battery cable connections
