I just bought a 1999 B4000 4X4 and am replacing the brake pads, rotors and fluid because the truck clearly needs it. I see what seems to be an ABS wheel speed sensor on both sides but when I removed the rotors there is no exciter ring on either side. Just looking for assurance that the sensors are in fact WSS before buying ABS friendly front rotors.
If not then your wheel hubs were probably replaced and you can usually ONLY get hubs with ABS sensors now-a-days, only kind they make because they can be used on either RABS or 4WABS
So if you have RABS then you won't need the tone wheel/exciter ring on the rotors
I also have noticed that for the 4WABS front rotors they seem to all come with the hub attached, but people have mentioned that the exciter ring comes off with the rotor. Do I need to replace my whole hub to have functional 4WABS?
The whole PVH vacuum line system has rotted out, so I already have manual locking hubs on order. I ordered Mile Marker Premium 426's. Are those going to work well or should I look at getting the Rugged Ridge version?
They are both made by AVM so they are the same, and will work great, the MileMarker may be slightly larger than the RuggedRidge or AVM, so wheel is a tight squeeze over it, I might have read that somewhere but can't remember where
Test it's fit thru the center hole in the wheel before installing on the hub, just to be sure
