Compatibility

Hey guys, I found a cab online for cheap. It's a 2000 4 door, 3.0L v6 Ranger. I have a 2003 4 door 4.0L v6. Would the parts be compatible to my truck? Obviously the engine would be different, but what about the interior, doors, etc.?

EDIT: From searching on Ebay, it appears that 94-02, and 03-05 Ranger doors can be switched up, separately. Is cross checking parts numbers the way to go, or does anyone have a chart of all parts and their compatibilities?

Don't rely on what ebay tells you. I've found multiple instances when they're wrong.

For the most part, the body goes unchanged. Past 04 I have no idea as thats when a crap ton of stuff started changing. From what a friend of mine told me, on his 08, the expo front clip swap is no longer possible, at least easily (just to give you an idea)

However, what I can say is that from 98 to 03, the parts are largely interchangeable. Tail lights, doors, glass, trim pieces, etc. Of what I know, there's little reason to believe that this cab won't work for you. The only thing you may have a problem with is bolts or wiring harnesses matching up, like where they enter and leave the cab.

If you want to cross-reference part numbers, check out rockauto.com

Will do, thank you very much. The cab is cheap and I figure why not have it if I need parts. It has good doors, tires, interior parts. I'll just need a way to get it home lol

You could rent a trailer from uhaul or home depot. Or if you have a buddy with that you could probably buy him (or her) lunch.

I would have gone with a UHaul, but I've decided to abandon this idea. I don't really have the money for it, and it's ~120 miles away from home for me. Kind of a hassle.

I don't blame you. Best if you can find one at a wrecking yard, or just flat out have it shipped.
