86 ranger 4wd 2.9 5 speed, it ran fine, then my brakes went out, and it set for roughly a little over a month. i just got around to fixing the brakes, and it started right up wen i drove it to the garage to work on it, and it started right up when i went out to test the brakes, i got a mile away from home to turn around, was still running fine. wen i stopped i put it in reverse and let out on the clutch it instantly died, like i killed it. i started it and it did the exact same thing, then wouldnt start. it would fire just for a second, then die. eventually battery died so i had a buddy come to pull me home. he pulled me 20 feet and i dropped clutch and it started and ran perfectly fine all the way home. i got there, shut it off and started it 3 times in a row. the next day i went out started right up, let it warm up for 3 minutes at the most, was idling fine wen i went back outside, but as soon as i tried backing up it died again and wouldnt start.. could it be the ignition control module?
