Decently loud thunk (maybe in middle back) when I hit the brakes or a very big bump

Hey guys, so my 1999 6 cylinder ranger is having some loud clunks (not continuos)only when I hit the brakes. Seem to be mid rear ish area and it sometimes happens over very large bumps. Recently it has also started making a continuous (couple seconds) clunks, doesn't happen often but maybe has happened more often after taking a turn and straightening up. But not during the turn. Truck has sat for awhile so maybe it has something to do with that. I drove it maybe 60-80 miles before this noise started happening. Also you can slightly feel it when it happens. I haven't looked under yet but was wondering if it was the exhaust being loose or a broken hanger

You need to look first

The slip joint on driveshaft can "clunk" when rear axle changes position or when accelerating or decelerating, easy fix to lube it

Look at the spring hangers not just exhaust hangers

Look at transmission cross brace

Ok so nothing I can see to the eye. The exhaust is sturdy up until the back there there's a rubber hanger. I noticed that no matter the speed if I so much as tap the brake it knocks. If I get on the brakes pretty hard it sometimes doesn't do it. Bumps don't cause it either so I guess's it's not the exhaust. I'm insanely confused. Maybe slip or u joint?
