Dome Light Switch
Dome Light Switch
My 2009 Ranger is the first Ford product I've owned. My GM's and Chrysler vehicles all had pin switches to turn the dome light on when a door was opened. Don't see anything like that on my Ranger, and the dome light will not come on when I open the passenger door. What should I be looking for, where is it located, and is it something I can replace myself?
Ford uses a switch inside the door at the bottom of the latch, white part seen here: https://ricksfreeautorepairadvice.co...ch-218x300.jpg
Its a GROUND when door is opened, this tells the SJB(smart junction box/body computer) to turn on interior light relay
Each door has one
The door ajar light should come on as well
People often unplug them when a switch breaks so no ground and no door ajar light
The switch is a twist lock so you need to take out the 3 screws holding the latch then twist and pull down on the old switch, then install the new one
