Fast Flashing indicator and Park Pilot

Hi All. I have a 2014 Ranger XLT that has fast flashing indicators and it seems to be related to the trailer hitch as when I reverse it show up on screen that I have a trailer hitched (Park Pilot image comes up as if I had it connected).
I am guessing that when the trailer is hitched there is a resistance and when it is not that there is a contact in the plug that also has a resistance to allow for standard slow blinking.
Is this the magnet in the fold up cover?
Should this be connected to something?

Any advice welcome.

Welcome to North American Ranger forum

Our Rangers were different than yours, smaller, and only made from 1983 to 2011
We just got the larger Ranger, T6 models, in 2019, but different power train than yours, also the steering wheel is on the proper side, the LEFT, lol

You have a T6 Ranger, we call it the International Ranger here, made from 2011 and still in production

Did you find the problem you had? I've just had the same issue pop up with mine and would love to know what it is

I don't know about newer electronics, but it used to be that when a signal was flashing rapidly, it meant either a bad bulb
or a short. The fact that his shows a trailer is connected when it is not leads me to believe there is a short in the trailer harness.
