I want to hardwire my Valentine 1 into my 2005 FX4 using a switched circuit. The radio is probably the easiest, but I'm unsure which wires I need to tap. Can anyone tell me which is ground & which is switched on/off? Thanks.

 

ahh, i had my radar tapped into the radio fuse so it only worked with the ignition. I just twisted the wire around the fuse and plugged it back in. To find which side of the fuse is hot, you just need a flat head screw driver and put it into one of the slots that the fuse goes into, then put the wire on the screw driver.

For grounds, ah, on my 94, i ripped off the plastic cover piece next to the ebrake pedal and found a good ground there.

i did the same with my cb radio on the car radio fuse.

and for the ground i just got a self tapping screw and a power-drill and put it into the door jam

 

I'm not really wanting to tap into a fuse. On my 97, I tapped into a switched radio wire & one of it's ground wires. That worked well, so I'd like to do the same on the 05.

 

Anyone with info on which wires need to be tapped?
