After getting everything installed into the truck(2000) including all the wiring and 4x4 gem I finally turned the key to see what would happen...well the windshield wipers run without being turned on??? WTF! After thinking for a minute I decided to go ahead and start it up. Everything else works including the 4wd switch After double checking everything I plugged in the old 2wd gem...back to normal....

Ok so the question is...is the gem bad or is it because of a year difference? The gem is a 98 and the truck is a 2000. Does anyone know if the gems are interchangable between 2000 and 1998?

 

Sometimes it comes in handy to have an extra truck sitting around...its either the gem or a wiring difference between a 1998 and 99-00 year modelsDoes anybody have 98 wiring diagrams? I could use the gem/4wd and wiper locations on the gem for a 98 to compare...
