1993 / 4.0

the engine is not turning over, i have all the interior lights, indicators, headlights, etc. the battery proved to be good, replaced the starter solenoid and still nothing. eventually i started the truck by jumping the battery to the starter solenoid; the ignition switch was replaced and then shorted out.

does anybody have an ideas on what could be the cause?

Neutral / park / clutch safety switch maybe.
What tranny ?

Check the clutch switch assembly under the dash on the linkage rod . Make sure it is plugged in all the way.
