Help with speakers
I have an 07 ranger 2.3 stick shift. I am posting here because I have a problem with my passenger side speaker. It doesn’t make any sound. I have checked the continuity and it all seems good. I’ve switched out the speaker for a different one and it still doesn’t work. It’s worth noting that the truck has an aftermarket radio that seems to wired up correctly. It had the radio when I got it. Is it possible I need a new radio or is there something else going on here?

All stereo radios should have a balance control, left and right off-set, try yours and set it so all sound goes to the side with no sound coming out, do you hear anything?
Then go the other way so all sound is coming out the working side
This tests balance control
(Some 4 speaker radios also have a Fader control, for front and back speakers, if you just have 2 speakers make sure it's set to all sound to front)
Speakers should show 4 to 8 ohms between their 2 connectors
Check the old one that was replaced
If speakers check out and balance checks out
Then 1 channel in the radio is bad, it happens, can be the amp or the pre-amp(separates left and right signals)
For now you can splice the left and right speaker wires together so both work, this also tests the wires from radio area to the non-working speaker, i.e. if it still doesn't work then its a wire issue
But a new radio is in your future
Door speaker wires can often break in the door jamb, especially drivers side, because they are bent back and forth each time door is opened and closed
But if the 2 speaker wires, at the radio end, show the 4 to 8 ohms of a connected speaker then the wires are OK
