mustang dome light

I have an 01 and I replaced the stock dome light with the mustang dome light. I was told that is should just bolt in and work fine but it does not turn on when I open my doors, is there something that I missed?

make sure the screws are screwing into the nylon insulated terminals on the roof. when i put mine in i had to really reef the screws in to get it to light up, its almost like they are too short but they work

I just went outside to check that and I noticed that the plastic connector with the orange and green wire had a small crack in the plastic but it did not look like it went all the way through?
