Has anyone ever had this problem?? The bulbs are all good. Fuses and relays are good. I was thinking about replacing either the bulb sockets and/or the multifunction switch. My ranger is an 2002 with the 4.0. But yeah I am stumped lol

Welcome to the forum
In 2002 the REAR turn and brake lights share one filament on each side
So there is one wire from turn signal stalk(multi-function switch) for the left side and one wire for the right side going to rear of vehicle
Front turn and dash lights use different wires
3rd Brake light uses a wire directly from brake pedal switch, doesn't go thru turn signal stalk
Each wire to the rear has its own fuse as well, Check fuses 3 and 7 in the Cab fuse box, 7.5amp fuses
Most common issue when rear brake/turn don't work is previous owner adding a trailer light hook up, the wires get exposed and corrode over time
So look under left rear of vehicle for spliced wires and bad connections
If fuses are good and wires look OK then you will need to swap out the Multi-function switch as that's all thats left that the rear turn/brake have in common
