No High beams
No High beams
Hey guys,
Now a semi-electrical/semi-mechanical issue in my 2003 XLT 4.0 Supercab 2WD auto.
I swapped motors not too long ago. Before the swap, my high beams engaged just fine.
After? Not too well.
After starting my engine to wind it up a few RPMs, I tried most of my electrical stuffs for function. Headlights, running lights, AC, heat, hazards, stereo, turn signals, all those work.
I haven't tried the wipers, yet.
No high beams. It's not clicking when I pull back to activate it, either.
Before I order a new one from Rock Auto, I was wondering if it's a simple check/fix to see if I missed something when I dropped the engine in.
Thanx in advance!

2003 has fuse #33 in cab fuse box for high beam power, 15amp, but its 12v comes from fuse #24 in engine fuse box which also powers low beams, 30amp
There are no relays involved
Multi-function switch sends the 12v from fuse #24 to fuse #33 then out to the high beams
Battery----(fuse 24)----main light switch---------multi-function switch-----------(fuse 33)-----------------high beams
The main light switch is by passed when you use "Flash to Pass", fuse 24 power runs directly to multi-function switch so high beams can be activated/flashed briefly, but that 12v still runs thru fuse 33
The DRL(daylight running lights) module monitors High Beam power but wouldn't effect it unless it was shorted out, then fuse 33 would blow

Update:
After all these months...
I'm a moron.
I forgot how to activate my high beams after being a whole year of non-running truck and driving beater Honda in its place.
I started my truck at night and tried them again. Pulled back and they worked, but no click to stay on...
I...
have...
to...
push...
the...
lever...
forward.

My Honda is a pull to click 'em on.
Being the only person at home, I don't know if the high beams were activating or not as I didn't trust the little blue light on the dash.
I guess too much on my mind
