No low range

I just finished converting my 94 ranger from an automatic to a manual. Everything works except for my low range. The 4 High works just fine, but the 4 low will not engage, the light just blinks. I put the shifter in neutral, park brake on, brake pushed in, and clutch pushed in, but still nothing. It worked fine before the swap. Any ideas as to what could be wrong?

if its anythign like the GM systems 4 low can be tricky to get into. You may have to be ever so slightly rolling backward (like less than 2mph) for it to fully engage. Even my new silverado for 4 low you must be in neutral.

It may be blinking because it cant fully get into 4 low and it knows it so instead of half *** engauging and possible damaging things due to partial engagement it reverts back to 2 high.

Welcome to the forum

1994 Ranger

You are missing either "neutral" or 0 MPH, or both

Manual trans doesn't have a neutral switch like an automatic, so with manual trans the Clutch pedal switch needs to be hooked up to the 4x4 control module
0 MPH means 4x4 module needs a speed signal, and it needs to show 0 MPH to get shift to 4low

Clutch pedal switch does 3 things
Enables starter motor
Sets REV limiter, same wire is also used for "neutral" to computer, and 4x4 module
Disables cruise control, if so equipped
