I'm not sure if this is the right fourm to post this on.
i recently got a 1988 ranger XLT extended cab, it has been sitting for a out 14 years in the weather and the paint is faded. My plan is to fix it up then sell it and save to buy a 4x4. There's a lot of stuff i need to do with it that i have very little knowledge about and any advice is super helpful.
The two tone beige with red trim has faded to a pink with salmon trim. If I'm gonna sell it it needs a new paint job but i got an estimate at macaco for 2.5-4k for a basic paint job and i don't wanna spend as much money as the truck is worth. The cheapest option is to do it myself but i know nothing about painting cars. I don't know what i need to take off how/what to cover with plastic or tape. I'm not sure if I should paint the car as a whole or take off the fenders and bed and do it part by part. Does anyone have any advice for this? How should I go about painting it or are there more affordable options that give better results?
To be clear I'm still in high school and do not have a job, so I'd like it to be affordable but good quality.
Any responses are appreciated.
Ford Rangers are RED, any other color is just a Primer coat so was never finished at the Factory
Looks like Ford workers started on this one but then the weekend came and it never got finished
Those made on Friday vehicles got a finished name of two-tones, to hide the fact they just were not finished
