Question check engine light

I have a 96 ranger 4.0 automatic I've had the truck for about 7 years that I bought in Arizona. I'm trying to register it in California but the check engine light never comes on for anything and it should be. I ran a hot wire to the pink and green wire and the light comes on and I have power all the way to the pin plug but I trace it at the pin plug it is now yellow and not in the #2 pin location I've changed the PCM and also put the original back in just to eliminate that question in my mind. Is there a different wiring or pin location diagram I should be looking at? Its 4 row and that's what I was looking at any help would be appreciated. I'm really puzzled since I have good wiring and lamp. Is it possible to have a bad ground for just that lamp only?

Welcome to the forum

The Computer(pin 2) Grounds the MIL(CEL) bulb to get it to light up
The Bulb gets 12volts from fuse 11(in 1996) with key on

1996 diagram below, top left corner

Could be cluster issue or burned out bulb

You can test if pin 2, pink wire, is a ground with Key On using a volt meter or test light hooked to battery positive
And test that fuse 11 has 12v with key on as well
