Questions after changing Instrument cluster

I have a 95 Ranger 2.3 with 5 speed. I recently got a cluster from a local boneyard. The donor Ranger was also a 95 with a 4 cyl. The donor cluster has the tach which was really the reason why I got it. Everything was pretty much plug and play After changing a few bulbs, everything seems to be working ok. I don't want to drive it to much until I find out what these 2 wires are that were not on my original. It is a black wire and a black/white wire. Small guage wires coming from the bottom left of the cluster. They are attached to some type of strip running along the entire bottom face of the cluster
Could someone please tell me what these two wires and strip are. Thanks for any info you guys can give me.I also noticed the check engine light is now on when it wasn't on before on the other cluster. The odometer does not work with this cluster as it did not work on the original either. My concern now is with the wires. Thanks again guys

Welcome to the forum

Was the donor an automatic?
May have been to light the shift indicator, P R N D 2 1

Or a 4x4?

Ron, hadn't thought of shift lights. Cant remember if it was an automatic or not. Had someone tell me it was probably an aftermarket light strip because they didn't want to change the burnt out bulbs?? I think I will probably just go ahead and bolt everything back up and not worry about it. Thanks
