03 ranger blinker and brake light problems

I got an 03 ranger I have basically lost my rear on. It has had blinker and no brake lights problems and i cant figure out nothing on it. I replaced the multi function switch and still the same crap!! The blinkers work for the left side but on the right side it will blink but the left tail light blinks with the right one but the front does not blink. The hazard flashers work but no brake lights at all. I have checked all bulbs and even replaced them once all the way around just to be sure. I can make the brake lights work by jumping out two wires at the brake light switch which tells me the switch is most likely bad but when I make the brake lights work the blinker on the left side works but the rights side just lights up and doesnt blink. I hate wiring problems and I have pretty much lost my patients on this junk pile. I have $135 in a switch that is doing the same thing the old one did and several hours of wasted labor for nothing. Wish I could fix this for my buddy without sending him to the dealer with wiring problems. I have also made sure all the wires are plugged into the multi function switch and they are plugged in even tho they have pulled out a few times they are plugged in and still nothing working properly. Any info on this is appreciated since I am out of ideas besides sinking it in the nearest river.....

Do the directional indicator lamps in the dash cluster, high stop brake lamp, and parking lamps work? Is there an aftermarket trailer tow harness?

There is a trailer harness there but it isn't hooked to anything and doesn't look like there is a problem with it. I do have brake light's now after replacing the brake light switch so my only problem now is everything is working now but, When I have the brake pedal mashed and the right turn signal on the light's are bright but doesn't blink. As long as you do not turn the right turn signal on everything works fine. If you use the right side turn signal alone both taillights and the third brake light blinks and it blinks normal and not fast. I unplugged the harness going to both taillights and it still does this but it blinks fast on the right front and the third brake light blinks fast too. I dont think it has nothing to do with the taillights or the rear harness since it still has a problem even with that harness unplugged. At least I do have brake lights now and all the lights are working somewhat but still not right. I have also tried a new flasher but it did not change anything. I have made some progress but still it needs more attention!! Oh and yes the dash indicator lights do work and the third brake light works and the parking lights do work too.... If I can figure out this right turn signal issue I think all would be right with the ranger world!!!

Pull the following fuses (3 and 7 in the central junction box) (should be 7.5 amp each) and try the stop/turn signals again.

If no change re-install fuses.

Next, turn the light switch so the park lamps are on. have someone step on the brakes while you carefully watch the brake/park lamps on the rear and then front. Do the park lamps dim or go out?

Next, with the park lights still on, try the right turn signal. Watch the park/turn signal/license plate lamps. Do they alternately flash?

I have gave up for today but I will try again tomorrow. I picked at it some more with no luck just same crap. Will try a little more but I have already lost alot of time and cash in this one already and spending more time on it im just digging a deeper hole for myself. Honestly should just send him to town with it and let someone else have this headache!! I hate to be so bummed out but the last few rangers I have worked on for people I have had to eat crow!! Think this will be the last ranger that i'm gonna mess with, I can't afford to work on these when I can never fix one of them. Gonna stick with jeep's, I have alot better luck with them at least.

I pulled the #3 and #7 fuses out and no change. It's raining out today so i'm basically throwing in the towel. They have to have it for work tomorrow so i'm just gonna let them have it back and tell them to take it elsewhere. Hard to fix wiring problems without a FSM to follow. I do appreciate your responses REV and I was hoping to make it work but like I said above wiring on a late model is over my head and if I had a week or two to pick at it I could most likely come up with a solution but trying to track down faulty wiring in a couple of days is overwhelming for me.

Unfortunately if I had to make a quick diagnosis of the problem, I'd say its either the multifunction switch or its connector. I know you said you replaced the switch but, based on your description, that's were it leads back to. One other place that might cause these type of problems would be the connection under the drivers side carpet that passes through the cab. This is a know problematic connect and ground point on Rangers due to water leaks/corrosion.
