Truck won't shift out of park.
Hey everyone, I have a very weird problem occurring with my 2001 Ford Ranger. When I crank it up, it won't shift out of park. To shift out of park and start driving, I have to turn the truck back off, shift it while it is not running, to neutral, then start it in neutral. Then I can shift to the other gears. However, once I put it back in park, it won't shift out again. I have replaced the shift interlock switch (I believe its called) with no improvement, although it could be faulty from the factory. Any ideas? Thanks!

Yes, the shift interlock prevents shifting out of Park unless the brake pedal is pressed down
Check Cab fuse box fuses 9 and 10, both 7.5amp
Do your brake lights work?
If not check fuse 13, 20amp
