My turn signal was very dim and making horrible noise- I checked the fuse and looked ok. Then restarted and zero turn signal or hazards.
Since the fuse seemed ok my guess was the flasher relay-
I was researching posts here. Most of what Ive found folks were talking about either a blue housing or sometimes yellow.
mine doesn’t seem to have that? Is it the black one?
Also the shop gave me EFL4 but when I search online its EP7. Could that be the issue?
Or is it the fuse? My next guess would be the turn/windowwiper hardware itself.
Its a 5 pin relay, meaning it does both turn and hazards, that started in 1995 Rangers, before that there were 2 separate flashers(2 or 3 pin), 1 for turn and 1 for hazard
There are many part numbers that will work, from many makers
Try one, the EFL4 is fine to use, EP27 is another one that would work, some work with either LED bulbs or the stock bulb type, some only work with one or the other types of bulbs
The multi-function switch(turn signal arm unit) is another common failure point if turn and hazards both don't work well, it controls both, same as flasher does
