Painted the lenses the other day, removed the masking tape today, really happy with how they came out - the pictures are taken inside, they look very yellowish, obviously it's not like that in real life. Really happy with the masking line quality and paint finish/shine.

Soooo, you better put clear bulbs for all the sockets. Could be entertaining.

bulbs? i think not- this is an LED thread. 210 LEDs spread over 8 hand made circuit-boards going in there. Look at the previous posts.

I know it's led's. I'm just saying make them all clear. That's what I mean. Clear bulbs+clear plastic tails=blinding everyone...It was a joke.

Is that sideways facing panel another LED? or is it some sort of reflection? It might be the camera making it weird too.

yes these are 100% built by hand by me, and yes - there is a side facing pcb board in each tail light so that I have sidemarker lights (legal requirement)

I'm thinking of a simpler LED light build for mine. Not sure how it'll work.

I plan on using those predrilled PC boards, maybe double or triple them up for more strength so they don't break from vibration and rough road travels.

Then pack a crap ton of your regular LED's onto the board, as many as you can fit into the space, and putting a resistor on the main power supply wire. I'm thinking of wiring them all in parallel. Do it right, and you should be able to pack 300+ LED's in a taillight.

jp7, is my idea even feasible?

Excellent work, but I don't like the tail light housings. The clear lens give the lights an 'altezza' look, which I don't care for.

It would be much easier to just etch your own boards and use the superflux lumileds. Good luck fitting 300, i have 210.

It's hard to go with a bodymatched look with anything other than the clear lenses. The internal lenses are red on mine, they did have them available clear. I wanted the red lenses because I thought it would look really tacky clear - not to mention the reflectors, legally should be red.
