The ultimate Ranger PCB LED Exterior Lighting project
The red parts will be reinstalled after paint/PCB work is complete. Your supposed to have red reflectors by law (even know technically right now I don't have amber reflectors up front)
i have completly clear taillights with no red reflectors and i know by law u r supposed to have them... but i have never had a problem. they light up red with some huge red led bulbs... if there is a cop behind me i just turn my running lights on so they light up... it seems to keep them away... i have had these for about 3yrs now.

Today I cut more of the other tail light away so I can get the 1 remaining lens I need.
I sprayed some oven cleaner on 1 of the wasted housings and WOW. It did a fantastic job of removing the chome. The paint will just stick to this now like there is no tomorrow.
Very Exciting results.

External waste gate? Yes 44mm. Another topic for another day.
Anyways I can say that the glue is MUCH easier to get apart when you use oven cleaner to wipe out the chrome on the tails. I hope to have everything disassembled and ready for paint this weekend.

I know you all think I'm slow with this but I've been preoccupied with a different project and I haven't been working on the lights as much as I should. I have a few days off soon so I hope to spend nearly every waking moment getting further on them.
oh I wasn't calling you slow man, I've been busy as hell myself. I know how it is with hobby work, gotta make sure you get everything else done before you can play, I've had time for nothing the past month. Plus you put a TON of work into these heads/tails.
I have all 4 pieces I need (2 lenses, 2 housings). Took apart the inner-lenses on one of them today and did some oven-cleaner-dechroming. Also starting to develop pattern size/shape.

How well are the projectors held in the housings? I was wondering because I'm planning on doing a similar conversion but my truck does see a fair amount of offroading and I don't want my headlights flying out all over the dirt... I was thinking I might be able to add a backing plate or some resin/F-glass or something but IDK
ok i don't post here much (ever, haha) but i have a question. on theretrofitsource's site for the morimoto's that you have (the mini h1, right?) they say that it basically screws into the existing hole in the back of your headlight housing. did you just cut your housing up to get it to sit farther back, or am i just confused?
