PCV Valve hose is the most common vacuum leak
Starts here on the drivers side rear of engine, PCV Valve location: https://s48.photobucket.com/user/dma...arrow.jpg.html
Then the hose runs around the back of the intake to passenger side and to the front, pictures here: https://www.ranger-forums.com/4-0l-o...mon-cel-93776/
The PCV hose and the Power Brake Booster hose are really the only hoses large engine to cause the rough running, smaller hoses can cause high idle
Make sure you didn't hook EGR valve to wrong Vacuum hose, that can cause it to open a bit and you get poor running
