Icon11 What's wrong with my truck???

I have the following symptoms:

-wipers don't work
-no dome lights
-seat belt light flashes and then stays on (i shut that off)
-door ajar light is on (i've checked all the doors)
-no speedometer or odometer

What do all these things have in common? I have played around with the wiring so anything is possible.

You most likely blew a fuse.

blowing fuses usually come with playing with wiring. lol. check 'em all. Your drivers manual has a nice chart in it that shows what fuse does what.

Try again fellas...I've checked them all and no luck. I guess what I'm actually asking for is a common ground or wiring schematic for my truck so I can troubleshoot the circuit.

Go and play around with the wiring to return it to the way it was and quit playing around with stuff.

This sounds like a problem with the Generic Electronic Module. If I recall correctly, all of these functions are controlled by the GEM. Also, the GEM contains the CTM or Central Timer Module, which controls the amount of delay on the wipers, the time-out delay on the dome light, door-ajar indicators, and the seat belt indicator time-out. I'd be willing to bet the "Warning Chime" isn't working either, which would surely conclude the problem is with the GEM. (try both the headlights warning chime, and the keys-in-ignition chime)

It's a black box on the driver's side of the compartment that houses the radio and A/C controls. Remove the "radio bezel" and check that each of the connectors are firmly in place on the GEM.

Thank you...

That sounds like a good place to start. I appreciate you not just assuming I'm a jackass. I'll let you know how I make out.

Update: Got it all figured out today, finally. I shorted a wire to ground which got so hot it melted the insulation off of it and two other wires. The GED was the source and caused the lights and non working parts. Once I isolated the wires that were melted together everything was as good as new. Thanks Needforspeed3685!!!
