While the bed is off...fuel pump?
Spamming the forum with questions here
I have a project going and I'm replacing the rear frame on my 98 3.0L XLT Extended cab. While I have easy access, should I replace the fuel pump as a "maintenance item"? I will have the fuel tank completely removed from the frame during the swap, so I have unprecedented access to it. The engine runs strong and no miss. Haven't driven it yet (needs clutch work) so I don't know how well it goes under load. I'm planning on putting a new filler tube on it because the rubber around it is split. If it's something I should replace, everyone says, "motorcraft everything" in the threads here. I didn't see a motorcraft pump on rock auto. Is there another brand that performs/lasts as well? Or should I just run it and pull the bed back off if needed (it's surprisingly easy, I have found).
Thanks.

If you purchase a non-Motorcraft ful pump it may last for years or quit with in a year under warranty.
If you don't mind removing the bed each time, then go with the aftermarket pump.
Note that it may just quit in the middle of no-where tough.
Personally I would just spend the extra cash on the Ford pump, you pay more because they are tested by Ford and use better quality parts and raw materials.
