Do I need to pull the tank to replace the pump?

 

I assume fuel pump?

You can either drop the tank or remove the bed.
Dropping the tank can be done alone.
Removing the bed is often easier, don't forget filler tube and rear light wires, but requires a friend to help lift and slide it off.
