Dash lights are going away

My dash lights have been burning out. First it was the fuel gauge, which i didn't care about given the gas prices. But everything but my tach is gone. Driving at night I have no idea how fast im going unless i turn my dome light on. It gets annoying really fast and im tired of it.

So, after some research on the forum i believe there are 6 lights to replace? I was just going to go ahead with using 194 bulbs not LED's. I was wondering should i get the long life bulbs or the regular 194's? Do they just lock in place of the old ones?

Yeah defiantly get the long life bulbs don't get the colored ones either because they tend not to last that long.

Definately do long lifers if you want. I suggest it. BUT once you remove that cluster, it's really easy. Time consuming your first time, but now i can have it out in under 5 minutes. They are 194's.

Here's a good writeup that you can follow for some guidence. I prefer to remove the radio bezel, not just let it hang there.

http://autolumination.com/194.htm

I ran these from autolumination behind my explorer cluster before i went to LED...took away that ugly ugly yellow odometer and lit up the cluster brighter

Stock 194...

Autolumination.com (Super White)Xenon..

I like those yellow filtered bulbs. I know this is a PITA thing, funny thing is my Grandmothers Explorer has a few out and Ford said it would be $250.00!

Thanks Fx4wannabe01 for that site those are cheaper than Auto Zone. They want almost $4.00 for a long life one.

The ones that filter out the yellow. My bad... I have GE reveal bulbs in my home for that same reason. Yeah $250 for a 30 minute job. They must use some awesome bulbs for $250.
