guage swap...

so i switched out my stock guages with my 02 exploder sport trac one....\
i switched the normal clear bulds in it to blue LEDS and well i learned ..
the leds work and they are bright as heck but they dont seem to transfer well enough so that i can see the guages clearly when i am driving.

i know some ppl said to sand em w. sand paper but last time i did tht it didnt work...
i think i recall somone saying something that the paint off te back of the guages needs to be scrapped off... is this true?
what is the best method of doing it with out destroying them.

if all eslse fails i will put the original light bulbs back in.

and yes i know the thread is worthless with out pics and after i get it all set ill post on here you all can see them.....
it really wasnt tht bad either.. i just took the miles out of the old one and put it in the new set of guages...

This shows how to scrape the green color from the back of the gauges and substitute a different color of translucent paint. I'm not sure how well it would work using colored LEDs instead.

yea...what he said

one idea I was thinking about trying and you should too

buy the super white LED's from that same guy and install those...it might make the sport trac gauges looks more modern....but without sanding them....i may try it
