Installed carpet and sound deadener
Installed carpet and sound deadener
Those of you wanting to do this, I highly recommend Raammat.com and stockinteriors.com. I S/D' the floor, doors, roof and back wall. The carpet kit was easy to install, its still got some wrinkles but I think those will come out with time. Word of advice though, the how to here says that the kit comes with enough carpet in the back in case you want to do a rear seat delete. My kit did not have enough. Luckily I had enough leftover carpet from the front and I just slid a peice of carpet to cover the gap. Besides that, Im really happy with both companies
I put new carpet in a few months ago, I got it from the same place you did and its nice stuff.
Also to zabeard, when you put the carpet back it there will be another big difference in sound. Without the carpet in my truck its so loud and you can hear everything.

did you go with the plush or ultra plush one? I did ultra plush, standard padding
My truck has edead everywhere except the roof and in the around the xtra cab windows. even with my vinyl floor it makes a huge difference. i want carpet but dirt roads keep tellin me no... clean install dude
thanks...I took my time, measured 3 times, cut once...no rushing. I did manage to decapitate a couple trim retainers...have to hit up my ford dealer for them. Ive heard good things about edead, I went with raammat because everyone Ive talked to loved it. I rode in an altima with it and noticed a big difference.
Looks good, I started doing the same to mine a few weeks ago, but a couple strips have started to droop from the roof, guess I should make the pieces smaller. I'm using Fatmat Rattletrap though.
Know what the thickness of the stuff you installed is?

It took me 2.5 days to do deadener and carpet install. I did this by myself, taking my time and making sure everythng was cleand and pressed down good.
edit: about $300 in materials
+2 on that.. When you have fun doing a mod its a good thing.. especially when theres an immediate difference - most of us dont realize just how damn noisy our trucks are.. hell, jsut putting in my two back seats and filling in those holes with bolts it made a -huge- difference in road and exhaust noise..!
Just the plush because it was cheap. If it wasn't a 13 year old truck I would have probably spent extra and gotten the ultra plush, but whatever I'm happy with the purchase and look.
heck yeah it makes a huge difference...now if I could get rid of the wind noise from the ext cab doors thatd be great. Im gonna put the intake silencer back on too, didnt notice any hp gains, just got louder.
Forgot to give korey89 big thanks for doing the write up and answering my questions before I bought the kit! Heres the Link to his how to.
FYI, my 05 has 15 or 17mm bolts holding down the front seats but torx for the center seat belt
For those not wanting the heel pad, just make sure you let them know when you place your order. I didnt know I could do this until a day or two ago. I wouldve opted for a pad delete since I have weathertech mats.
