Passenger airbag in 2010 Ranger?

Hi all, I'm new here and looking to find out how I can disable the passenger side airbag in my 2010 Ranger, to install a baby seat. I can't seem to find the information online, anywhere at all.

Sorry if this is the wrong catagory, I have no idea what I'm doing.

Welcome to the forum

Get your owners manual here: https://www.ranger-forums.com/genera...1-models-3747/

Can't say specifically on the 2010 Ranger but on most there will be a Key switch in the lower dash that will deactivate passenger side airbag.
So you need to use the ignition key to turn it off, or back on

2010 Owners manual will have more details

2010's dont have a on/off key. The passenger airbag is automatically disabled. The seat has a weight sensor in it and will not turn on the airbag until it senses a certain weight. Im not sure the exact weight but its designed with car seats in mind so when you install your car seat and put your kid in it turn the truck on and you should see the "airbag off" light come on. The light only comes on when the seat belt is buckled and the weight is below the threshold. Im not positive but I believe the threshold is 65 pounds.
