Shift **** options?

I've got a 1991 Ranger. The splines on the inside of the shift **** are stripped out and the **** spins and comes off easily. One time during some spirited shifting (aka fooling around with my friend) I actually yanked off the **** and through it out the sliding rear window and into the bed.

So, I want to replace it. What options do I have? Most ***** I see are hideous. Ideally, I'd like to replace it with a factory one, but there apparently isn't a huge market for these.

I was thinking of modifying my existing stick and attaching a Hurst Pistol Grip stick to it. But, with the cost of a Husrt Pistol Grip, that's out of the question. I mean, one of those would cost about the value of the whole truck. lol.

I need some help folks. If you can, post up some pictures of other factory Ford shift ***** that will fit. Also, some links of places that sell ***** that fit the Ranger would be great.

Thanks a million!

Yeah, I saw it on Jegs. I don't really want to spend $200+. Besides, I just need a new ****.

If you can weld/ have access to a welder, you could make your own shifter arm and weld the right size nut on the end and put your own **** on it like I did.

Thanks for the responses guys. I guess for now, I'll just put a set screw into my **** to hold it in place. Maybe down the line, I throw in a Hurst shifter. That way I can get some of those cool "Hurst Equipped" badges. lol.

Thanks again.

I just ordered this from UPR Products...the black and silver 5 speed emblem one:http://www.uprproducts.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=618

mine isn't just loose, the base is actually cracked.
Its shipped, should be here Tuesday...which would be great, since the loose wobbly cracked one is drivin me CRAZY.

I just used a bit of electrical tape to increase the friction between the two... haven't had a problem with mine ever since (been a year now I think)
