The ****…
Just thinking out loud, so pls bear w/me.
If you buy the Jeep Alum *****, like Q-Tec sells, the one without a shift pattern on it and that fits the thread and machine the top flat, you could counter bore the top to fit the stock Ford Plastic insert.
i did this to me 82 Scrambler shifter except I had a buddy machine the **** from a block of aluminum, and then counter bored the top for a OEM Jeep plastic insert. Then I took two of the Q-Tec ***** and did the flat top thing and made matching insert With the 4x4 levers patterns.
Some extra work but something to think about.

I was wondering, do you find the Stick to be too far forward and a little low ?
I did, maybe our height is different but I changed to another Hurst Stick, p/n: 5388022
It bends back more and is taller than the one that came with the kit and it bends closer to the driver’s side. Then I didn’t like that position so I made a 2” x 2” x ¼” Plate and moved the stick up an inch and back an inch; ALMOST perfect. No pic on it.
Waiting for a Shorty Cntr Console before moving it again.
Just thinking and looking at your pics and thought how short the original stick was.
