2003 Ford Range Cruise Control Issues...
Hey there, new account here after looking up my ranger troubles and getting quite a few things fixed after coming to this site quite a few times...
I put in new cruise control switches after the original ones broke from grandpa's excessive force on them. They feel great yet do not work on the rig. I did the engine off test and all buttons flash the light properly except "Set" and "Coast".
My ABS light is on... the fuse is not blown and my fluid may be a little low... but other than that idk what else could be sticking that light on besides a bad ABS unit...
I only mention it as I have heard ABS being on doesn't allow for cruise control, but I also have defective buttons so I guess that doesn't really matter...
Any help be appreciated... she is getting a new winch bumper here soon and after that hopefully a winch. I was thinking a hydronic pump since I live in Montana, I don't wanna put too much stress on our already cold batteries and love the extra power anyway....
Cheers,
-Wyatt

Best thing would be to get an OBD2 code reader that can read ALL OBD codes, P, B, C, and U codes
P = powertrain, any reader will read these
B = body codes, in 2003, GEM codes, body computer codes
C = chassis codes, ABS codes
U = network codes
ABS light being on can disable Cruise
Could be on because of a failed wheel sensor, but in any case it will set a specific C code telling you why the ABS light is on, no guessing or wasting time or money on non-fixes
This PDF has "most" of the Ford OBD codes: https://www.freeautomechanic.com/ford-codes.pdf
Scroll down to C codes
These OBD2 readers work on any vehicle 1996 and up, its the LAW, not a Ford thing, so good tool to have if you plan on driving anything 1996 and newer in the future
