Headlights cut off ??? Need Advice

Hello All, I'm Mike from Highlands, NC., New member this evening with a slight emergency. I'm riding along in my 87 Ranger and the headlights go out and when I press against the light switch, the lights come back on some of the time. Does this sound like a bad ground or a worn out part? It happened once before months ago. Thanks Mike, aka, hcjag

The lights just go out while I'm not switching to HI or LO beams and reaching over and putting pressure on the light switch handle sometimes makes the lights come on again. Luckily I have been near home when it happened but I have to get it right. So old87ranger, it sounds like a worn out switch???
