Hi everyone

So my boyfriend and I have a 98 XLT Ford ranger 3.0 v6 4x4 truck. and we love it , but we have a turn signal problem and we can't figure out what to do. Okay so it started out with we was blowing a fuse every time we turn the turn signals on and we tracked it down and it turns out that it was the cigarette lighter fuse. well needless to say to use the turn signals we would replace the fuse constantly. So we got a multi function switch and replaced that. then we heard kind of like a buzzing sound when you would turn on the turn signals, and then one day the wires by the turn signal relay started smoking slightly. so we got a turn signal relay from a junk yard which was the only place that had the 6 prong flasher relay. And then only the hazard lights would work. so then we got a new multi function switch and turn signal relay and the wire harness and fuses and relays and replaced it all for the second time and checked all of the bulbs and they are fine now you hear the turnsignal clicking sound but the hazards come on when you turn the turn signal on and the battery light flickers and we just got done replacing the altenator and the battery light still flickers only when you turn on either one of the turn signals so if anyone out there could help us figure out what's wrong with it so that we can have turn signals again that would be really appreciate it.

Is there a coin stuck in that cig lighter? Or a wire in the back if it rubbing against the dash frame?

No there's no coin in in the cigarette lighter area, the connector piece behind the cigarette lighter was loose but we fixed that but we still don't have turn signals only hazards
