On the way to class the other day my turn signals quit working. headlights are fine, I did not notice any blown fuse, and when I turn the hazards they all light up fine. When i put the dongle to left or right turn the arrow lights up for a second and then dims down as if it lost power and stays off until i reset dongle and put it into position where it does the same thing, lights up and dims away to nothing. The light don't turn on, even for a second.

I presume its the relay but the symptoms seem odd.

 

Depends on the YEAR of the ranger
They used separate flasher relays some years and combo relays in other years

 

Hmm went ahead and replaced the flasher. the turn lights come on but they just flicker, both the light and the dash indicator. may have a bad ground or something. Maybe the dongle switch itself is dead now.

 

HA i fixed it. it was the relay. I originally swapped the one on the rear of the fuse box because everything i was reading said it was the relay for the signals. But i swapped the one on the front of the fuse box on a whim and now everything is working like it should.
