I'm Greg. I live in Western North Carolina. My 16 year old grandson and I just purchased a 87 ranger 2wd extra cab for a grand. So now the fun begins. The first order of business is to swap the worn out automatic, for the 5 speed out of an 88 parts truck i bought for $50 bucks. Wish us luck

2.3l 4cyl or 2.9l V6?
1987 2.9l would have an A4LD automatic
1988 2.9l would have Mitsubishi FM132 manual
You could be in luck with Clutch Brake pedal assembly, 1988 should fit in 1987, 1989 and up wouldn't
